Why does the media refuse to really talk about mass shootings?

Nearly every day, countless Americans are impacted by gun violence. Everyone hears about the big or newsworthy mass shootings, but why not cover all of them? At the Greenwood Park Mall, three people were killed and two others injured when a gunman opened fire on Sunday, and we all know about that, but why don't we know anything about the other deadly mass shooting just miles away that claimed one life and left three others injured....
