Turkey Sucking US Back into Syrian War?

Turkey is putting pressure on the US to intervene in Syria to prevent Assad from reconquering Idlib, the last remaining rebel stronghold. Frankly, I don't see why the US would join Turkey in fighting a conventional war against Assad at this point after the civil war has already been raging for nearly a decade.
