Making Fun of Parents is Not an Argument

I see a lot of people mocking parents for their contempt about kids at drag shows, as if that's an argument in favor of these shows for kids, or in defense of adults who take kids to them.

Mockery isn't an argument. Make a principled argument in their favor. How are they good? Neutral isn't really good enough here. Of all the things one could expose young children to by way of entertainment, the bar should be higher than "meh."

What's galling is some of the same people who insist parents don't pay enough attention to their kids, or do enough to safeguard them, are the first ones to mock us when we take issue with this sort of thing.

Enough. You want to sell this as no big deal, and accuse us of overreacting? Go ahead. Make that case, but without making it about US.

We are all ears.
