DVD-RW CD-RW laser diode removal extraction salvage DVDRW CDRW

I had a bunch of old CD-RW and DVD-RW I wanted to throw away. I have a few laser projects coming up and wanted to see if I could salvage some of these laser diode. I prefer the 3 pin Laser diodes because they easier to figure out polarity. I these should operate between 2V-5V.
