SLABBING SPALTED SYCAMORE LOGS

In this video, my buddy, Rich Campbell of Twin Dix Guitars, and I slab a couple Sycamore logs with an Alaskan Chain Saw Mill. The mill was borrowed from a friend of a friend (Thanks Tim Frey!), and the monster chain saw with 32" bar was rented locally for $65 a day, plus $5 each for two ripping chains. The first log was pretty punky, but the second was mostly solid throughout.

This process was hard work, but oddly satisfying, as they say!
