Liberals are destroying society… and anyone that disagrees with them

(LifeSiteNews) — I was asked recently why, in spite of the fact that I’m more of a traditionalist than a conservative, I spend so much time detailing the dangers of progressivism in my writing. As I considered the answer to that question, I realized that I’d have to write a book to give an even remotely adequate response. In lieu of a project of that size (at least for now), I’d like to offer seven reasons that I believe progressivism is well on its way to destroying Western Civilization — if it has not already.

Whatever the Left Touches it Ruins

The only way to save Western civilization is to convince more people that leftism — not liberalism — is a nihilistic force. Quite literally, whatever the left touches it ruins.

So, here is a partial listing of the damage done by the left and the Democratic Party:

The most obvious — and, therefore, the one more and Americans can resonate with — is the near destruction of most American universities as places of learning. In the words of Harvard professor Steven Pinker — an atheist and a liberal — outside of the natural sciences and a few other disciplines (such as mathematics and business), “universities are becoming laughing stocks of intolerance.”

Free Market

In a free-market economy, firms and households act in their own self-interest to determine how resources get allocated, what goods get produced, and who buys the goods. A free market economy functions in the opposite manner as a command economy works, where the central government gets to keep the profits and choose how to use them.

Among all of the states throughout the globe, there is no entirely free market economy—all economies have some constraints upon them in the form of government regulations, to a greater or lesser degree. An absolutely free market does not include standard measures like import and export tariffs, prohibitions on certain products, sales taxes, and more.

Markets tend to be the freest in countries that emphasize the values of capitalism and private property, which naturally promote laissez-faire economics (a term often used synonymously with the idea of the free market).
