Delilah was walking home from school with her big brother, Terrick. A Boston Terrier chased them home. Delilah was afraid of even small dogs. Terrick told her, "Baby sis, it's OK. Small dogs don't hurt like big dogs".

They arrived home, & the Boston Terrier would NOT take "NO" for an answer. Their parents wouldn't let them have the puppy. Terrick begged his mother & father to let them have the puppy. The parents explained that they couldn't afford to take care of the dog, & that they would hate to have an extra mess to clean up after.

The puppy cried all night on their doorstep. Terrick waited until everyone was asleep to sneak the puppy in. He fed the puppy his leftover pork chop that he had hiding underneath his bed. The puppy quit crying once she ate.

Terrick softly whispered, " 'Atta pup! I knew you were hungry."

Delilah walked into his room. He told her, "Shh! Please don't tell mommy & daddy."

She said, "The only way I won't tell on you, is if you do my spelling homework for me."

He agreed & did her spelling homework. Then she made him do her math & her reading homework. She giggled the entire time. He got scared that she would tell on him.

The puppy wanted to cuddle all night. When they let go, she cried. So, to keep everything quiet, they took turns cuddling with her.

Terrick said, "I think this is a girl puppy. Here. I'll let you name her".

Delilah said, "I'll name her after me".

He said, "No. That's cheating. You can't do that. Because I know you wouldn't let me name her after me. & don't even think about blending both of our names, because of my mean teacher, Derrick, who expelled me last year. & girls, named Derrick, don't sound right, even if it's a puppy".

She said, "Well, she loves to cuddle & kiss. She's not a big pooch, but she loves to smooch. She's a small baby. Small + pooch = smooch, & she loves to smooch & mooch. Let's call her 'Smoochies'. It's MY idea!"

He said, "Fair enough."

The both agreed on the name, "Smoochies".

Terrick said, "Now, don't EVER let us get caught. Mommy & daddy will get mad."

They quietly snuck the dog out before it was time to wake up for school. The dog kept crying right outside. They overslept, & their parents were furious! Their mother was walking barefoot accidentally stepped in dog doo-doo in the hallway, & that's how she found out about the dog being snuck inside of the house. She told the children that they were grounded for a month.

Later on that evening, there was a news segment that was talking about a missing Boston Terrier puppy, which so happened to be named, "Smoochies" by her actual owners. There was an offer for a $1,000 reward.

Afterwards, the REAL owners actually drove by & found Smoochies crying & begging on Terrick & Delilah's doorstep. They knocked on the door, asking for permission to have their dog back, & they gave Delilah & Terrick's parents a $1,000 reward & also let Delilah & Terrick keep the dog.
