“Freedom isn’t free.” Americans are so familiar with this phrase, but few know the true sacrifice our soldiers make to keep our nation secure and to enforce freedom throughout the world. Benjamin Sledge, author of the new book Where Cowards Go To Die realized this harsh reality after the 9/11 attacks destroyed his idealistic dreams of Army life and transported him to the front lines in Afghanistan.
