The Will Smith Saga - Slapping Chris Rock Twice

At the 94th Academy Awards on March 27, 2022, actor Will Smith walked onstage and slapped comedian Chris Rock in the face during Chris Rock's presentation for Best Documentary Feature. The incident was dubbed, "The Slap Heard Around the World." A slap in response to Chris Rock making a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith's shaved head. Some would call this a routine comedic roasting; however, laughter turned to violence and an audience and television viewers would be left shocked as beloved Will Smith would turn an annual ceremony into a violent display of mental illness.
