Just walk away and give yourself time to think. Do some research. Watch a video. You may feel like a fool afterwards and ask yourself “why didn’t I think of that before?” but as long as you get the job DONE, nothing else matters.

Diagnostics are less about throwing parts, and more sitting down and thinking. And you can use a variety of diagnostic tools, from a test lamp to a diagnostic computer, but always keep in mind what you have done so far, and what you havent done yet.

In the end, it turned out to be a simple ground wire issue. So if you a no crank condition, the FIRST thing you should do is connect a jumper cable from the negative terminal of the battery to the engine block, transmission or the body. This is especially true if you have severe corrosion issues, as ground wires (aka bonding wires) may break contact.
