Bee Hive During Dearth

During dearth there is no pollen or nectar for the forager bees to gather. During this time several bees stay at the hive location and perform what is called a washboarding action moving back and forth. You will also see a few bees still bringing resources they do find back to the hive. Also notice the bees grooming one another to make sure there are no foreign invaders attached to the bees which can carry disease and affect the health of the colony.
