🔴👀🔴 Sources of the Galaxy's highest energy particles discovered

The highest-energy gamma ray sources ever observed in our galaxy have recently been catalogued by researchers. The earth is continuously bombarded by cosmic rays from space. Where are they coming from? Their sources are difficult to pinpoint because they bend in magnetic fields. Gamma rays do not and are produced from sources close to cosmic ray sources. Researchers at Los Alamos National Laboratory and the US-Mexico HAWC observatory, catalogued nine new gamma ray sources with energies over 56 trillion electron volts. Three went beyond 100 TeV making these sources the highest level gamma ray sources ever recorded. Higher-energy gamma rays have been previously observed, but now the source has been pinpointed at HAWC.
