Proverbs 8, verses 12 through 31, is essentially the autobiography of “Lady Wisdom.” The "I" who is speaking in these verses is wisdom. The fear of the Lord in verse 13 implies having a proper attitude of agreement, respect, and obedience for Him and viewing evil the same way He does. Pride, arrogance and perverse speech are traits of the fool who doesn’t accept God’s rule. In contrast, wisdom gives us discretion and strength to meet life’s challenges.
