Episode 17 - Hardcore, Part 6: Experimental

Americanhardmind and Synchronicity introduce our Top Hardcore Bands, as in the essence of each musical sub-genre, continuing with Part 6: Experimental.

Experimental (progressive/proto-post-/folk-instrumental):
Experimental embodies progressive, proto-post- and folk-instrumental, at their hardest. These subs derive from a non-blues, non-industrial lineage, of which in deconstruction leads us to industrial blues as the basest synonym for what heavy metal converts to. Progressive consists of long, conceptual epics with fantastical, futurist shades of sound, recreations of post-human realms. With that in mind and spirit, proto-post- expresses as textural and avante garde, the fringe of subs like folk, ragtime, jazz, ambient, and instrumental. The only differentiating character between proto-post- and folk-instrumental is the use of vocals, as human sound is omitted from the last embodiment, as a nod to prototypical beginnings of acoustic-technical Instrument.
