Can a diary farm add value to their business by using their milking cows for meat?

About a year ago when Tractor Time with Tim traveled to the Netherlands to visit Katriel, one of our subscribers, Erik, took us to meet Ronald Pelgrom, an agriculture entrepreneur in the dairy industry. He runs a value added diary farm! His dairy farm produces milk but always fattens up these diary cows and sells the meat to local chefs and individuals. This is a paradigm shift for many diary farmers, historically, milking cows are not slaughtered for their meat.
