(Part 1) Step-Parents learn the art of communication. Communication can make or break your relationship with your step-children. You need to understand a very important concept, your family that you are joining already has an established pattern of communication. You have to learn that pattern and you need to teach them your pattern. Learning to communicate will help. You must understand that the connection between the biological parent and your step-children is strong. You are not gonna break that bond. You need to be aware that it is there.
