Topic: Today’s parable in the Gospel (and my attempt of breaking it down) is about how weeds end up being separated from wheat after some time of growing in the same field. We’re given this imagery to remind us of the work of our Lord, who separates out the good from the evil. It’s so tempting these days, in seeing all the wrong that’s going on around us and even experience, to want to be the one that condemns, judges, and make all the wrongs right. We physically, mentally, and spiritually do not have the stamina to do that - but Jesus does! It’s in fact the very reason why He exists in the first place. All Jesus asks of us is to love God and love others. He’ll take care of the rest. And when the time comes to be called home, He’ll be able to easily identify the faithful from the foes.
