The 98 Rock Album Vol I is the first installment of album rock radio station WIYY 98 Rock Baltimore to showcase local talent. The 1st of many contests were held to find the best and brightest of the Baltimore rock and roll scene of 1978. Contestant winners we given studio time to produce their song which were then played and promoted on 98 Rock and put on this album to be sold with the proceeds going to a local charity.
