They asked Jesus, "What are the Signs of Your return and the End of the Age?" (Mat 24:3)

They knew His coming and the End (or Culmination) of the Age was one and the same.

Jesus' answers were never a date but a season. And the season is known by its signs. (Mat 24:32-33)

There is a general energy, air, or climate as a backdrop of the Season. I think that backdrop is the Universalism of Lies and the irrelevance of Truth. I think this, not the isolated signs themselves, is the real differentiator from any timeframe to THE Time of the Return and End of the Age.
