Joseph P. Laycock talks to us about what may have set off "Satanic Panic" in the 1970-80s and how it affected the 1980s trend of role-playing games like Dungeons & Dragons. Could religious groups like the Hare Krishna & the Children of God be partially to blame, possibly, more worthy of the blame than Satan himself?

"When people said they were scared of cults, they meant actual religious groups that really existed. There was a real fear of mind control and brainwashing by cults, this mindset may have colored the reception of Dungeons and Dragons and other role-playing games of its kind."
