Border Crisis: You Can't Blame Border States Releasing Illegal Immigrants In DC And NY

Republican governors of border states are releasing illegal immigrants in their states and sending busloads of them to Washington, DC, and New York City, which has led to accusations and requests for federal funding from the Democratic mayors of those formerly welcoming places.

That administration has caused a calamity at the US-Mexico border, necessitating a quick policy change to safeguard lives as well as state and local finances, the governors' argument is being made by those mayors, ostensibly unintentionally.

It began back in April. Greg Abbott, the governor of Texas, started giving free bus rides to Washington, DC, to migrants who were fed up with the federal government releasing huge numbers of migrants into overcrowded little communities in his state (including Uvalde).

Gov. Doug Ducey (R) of Arizona did the same in May, and since then, more than 7,300 migrants from those two states have entered the District of Columbia, sparking what even Vanity Fair has dubbed "A Migrant Crisis in Washington."
