Rainbows are Religion Repellent

I want to challenge the way that Christians think about the topic of homosexuality. To deal with this condition I've had to stop framing it in sexuality. How long has the term "homosexuality" been around anyway? It sounds Freudian. And how about "gay"? When did that stop being an adjective describing vibrant color and high spirits? Oscar Pistorius runs on no legs. He says he wants to change the way people think about disability. That's somewhat the conclusion I'm coming to here about same-sex attraction. Oscar was counted out from running because he had no legs. In the emotional realm should people with same-sex attraction be counted out of loving because ignorant people have sexual hangups? By and large I'm sticking my neck out in posting this. I've spent years being discreet about it and fostering lots of friendships and relationships. So this is a game-changer. God wants this part of my life out front and I'm honestly nervous. But if being secretive is an impediment to loving more deeply and learning intimacy more perfectly then so be it. Enjoy it or not... I'm free and won't compromise this topic from being marginalized.
