I felt compelled to do the reading of this article again since the video was released of the cops behavior on that fateful day. It seems that much more poignant seeing it live.

Miranda Devine, writing for the New York Post, wrote what I believe is the most thorough encapsulation of my feelings on the tragedy at the school in Uvalde, Texas, that I am compelled to read it here. When men don't stand up, society suffers.

Police need a serious makeover, and the politicians, administrators, and cops need to do better. This is a blight on all cops, and it is neither isolated nor rare. I don't know how you test for cowardice, any more than I know how to test for valor. All I know is that as a society we are turning out a very different breed of men, and that does not bode well for the future.
