Science Does Not Disprove God

From what I’m told, the most common reason for young people distancing themselves from a faith tradition like Catholic Christianity is because of the apparent conflict between belief in God and science.

Because if there is a legitimate conflict there, then belief in God will appear to be the more irrational or superstitious position and could easily be seen as one inspired by emotional or psychological weakness. So, I can sympathize with someone who does not want to be associated with those qualities and surrenders to the apparently scientific and reasonable position.

But, what if this supposed conflict is based on entirely irrational and fallacious premises? What if conceding that ground means embracing something that has been shrewdly branded as the reasonable position but is actually utterly incoherent. Why don’t we find out?

3 reasons why science does not conflict with belief in God.

Reason #1 – God is not physical. When people say there isn’t any evidence for the existence of God, they’re using this word evidence in very narrow way. They mean there isn’t any scientific evidence. And this depends on a very narrow understanding of what is meant by science, which is, the physical sciences.

Reason #2 – Proof requires sufficient understanding of a proof.

Reason # 3 - The notion that all knowledge must be scientifically verifiable or that nothing can be said to be true unless science has verified it is self-refuting.
