Topic – God’s Judgment Against Babylon
Some 20 years passed between Daniel 4 and Daniel 5. Nebuchadnezzar, the golden head of the Gentile kingdoms was dead, and following his death, Babylon suffered a period of political instability and was plagued by a succession of weak kings.

The decline of the United States is parallel to ancient Babylon. We have exhausted the strength and moral character of previous generations. We have become a wicked, morally depraved nation. In character, the United States is essentially ancient Babylon, and we would be wise to take a lesson from Daniel 5, and see the portrait of a nation on the eve of God’s judgment.
