Sunday Longplay - Castlevania: Prince of Darkness (CV1 NES ROM Hack)

Time for another ROM hack this week on Sunday Longplay! In honor of Halloween this month, this is a Castlevania 1 hack from Frédéric Bouix called Castlevania: Prince of Darkness.

While most ROM hacks make the base game harder by completely redesigning the stages into platform hell levels of ridiculousness, senselessly spamming enemies, or buffing enemy stats, this hack takes a bit of a more intuitive approach to its difficulty. The stages are, for the most part, the same layout as the original Castlevania, but the enemies' AI has been modified, and some of their placements have been changed to make things more precarious.
