SGN News Blast: Special services clean up aftermath of shelling in Kostiantynivka residential area

Head of the Donetsk administration Pavel Kirilenko reported on his Telegram channel about the nighttime shelling of a residential neighbourhood in Kostiantynivka on Saturday, August 6. "This night the Russians carried out intensive shelling in the Donetsk direction and struck towns in the relative rear. After midnight, the Russians shelled Kostiantynivka twice, destroying an entryway in a multi-storey building. Rescuers extracted seven people from under the rubble and blocked apartments," Kirilenko stated.

Representatives of the Kostiantynivka city military administration specified that there were no casualties.

Footage taken on Saturday shows an apartment building damaged during shelling. The middle section of the building was destroyed. Special equipment is working at the site.

The State Emergencies Service reported that on the night of August 6, "duty units of Kostiantynivka rescuers arrived after a call about the destruction of a multi-storey apartment building, which occurred as a result of shelling in the city of Kostiantynivka. Upon arrival at the place of the call it was established that there was a destruction of the interfloor ceilings from the 2nd to 5th floors in the 3rd of a five entrance, five-storey apartment building."

The Russian side did not comment on the reports at this time. However, on Friday, August 5, the Russian Defence Ministry stated that two depots of "rocket and artillery weapons and ammunition near the settlements of Kostiantynivka and Artemovsk" were destroyed.
