Mystery #5: Conservatism and "Good Faith"

A True Conservative does not, nor are they in anyway obliged to argue in "good faith" with their adversaries.  Because arguing in "good faith" does not simply mean presenting an opposing view, it means accepting or agreeing upon the premises of your opposition before the argument is begun.  As such any inquiry that begins with the subversion statement "if", which implies a wide berth of allowances beyond conventional norms, "if" should be vigorously challenged until the motives of its proponent are revealed.  Some examples might be helpful...

"If there was a child capable of giving informed consent at age X..."

"If a pedophile has never attempted to harm a child..."

"If a man could give birth..."

"If Communism could work..."

Hopefully you get the point.  A True Conservative is never obliged to assume "if" and is obliged to challenge "if" at every front.
