Acting CBP Commissioner Briefs Reporters on Migration
Acting Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Mark Morgan briefed reporters on the number of migrants apprehended at the U.S. southern border for the month of August. Commissioner Morgan began the briefing by announcing that CBP had apprehended 64,000 people - a 22% drop since the previous month. The CBP commissioner also took questions on displaced Bahamians entering the United States after Hurricane Dorian destroyed the island. He also responded to a California judge reinstating a ban on a Trump administration policy that would restrict migrant's ability to claim asylum.
