I yearn for the day my brothers awake
For god only knows the effort it will take
To free them of their shackles of self hate
And remind them of our peoples great fate
For now as I look on to tomorrow
All I find there is sorrow
And if I dare to shed light on the misconstruing
It may very well lead to my undoing
Now my life no longer belongs to my own
Until my people have secured for themselves a home
And if I must suffer for our children to live
Then it is my life I willingly give
