Athearn Blue Box DD40 single motor testing after cleaning

After cleaning corrosion and rust, straightening bent sheet metal spring clips and removing the old light bulb wiring we can try it on the test track. This Athearn DD40 is from the early 1970s and did not have flywheels. It's the single motor version. The gears have not been cleaned yet and the motor is drawing a lot of power to make it move. But, it does work and is mechanically sound.
