Garden Update 8 25 2019 Grapes!

Hi, this is Lori Fiechter looking at vines. Real vines. Not the electronic kind. Fruit vines and vegetable vines: grapes and sweet potatoes. Oh, and I hope you don't have arachnophobia--the video starts with a very large and colorful orb weaver. And if you watch to the end, a skinny alien-headed critter among the red salvias.

Late August and I'm still picking peppers. I also picked all the grapes worth keeping. Only the seedless Concord grapes look good this year--I got a big bowl full which means I might be making jelly later this week. Tomorrow is applesauce day, though! And I'll have to do something with these multiplying pears. What I want to do is just trash all these early pears. They are small and either rotting or buggy. I'll wait for the bigger, better pears to come along. You know, sort of like the three Billy Goats Gruff.
