The Tubeinator Heard Back From YouTube! YouTubers, it's Jörgment Day!

I just got a call from #YouTube (actually someone I met many years ago in a very different context), and was given the information that YouTube plans to officially accept our request for negotiations and that they plan on doing so next week Tuesday or Wednesday. They will address this to the IG Metall as our official letter of notification came from the office of Christiane Benner.

Furthermore, the first (still unofficial) meeting will happen on Wednesday, where I will bring my new contact person up to speed. So there is zero stalling.

YouTube seems genuinely interested in working with us as they know full well that the #creators are an important part of their business.

This is great #news and actually exceeds my expectations. But of course the work has only just begun - we will have to see how our talks will go and how YouTube reacts to our demands.

As long as this is still unofficial we will continue to prepare for the "no-show" scenario (so the clock is still running over at fairtube.info) but it seems very likely that the first step of our FairTube campaign will actually be a huge success.
