Why is the Blue Jay Bald?? **MOLTING BLUE JAY**

Near the end of Summer you will spot a variety of Blue Jays (and Northern Cardinals) with bald heads. This is a very common occurrence in late July and August. The birds are not sick or dying. Molting usually begins at the head and sometimes the neck. In this video we will explain why and how long this lasts.
