A Russia-backed court in Donetsk region has charged five foreign nationals with being mercenaries, out of whom, three face death penalty, according to Russian state media. The five foreign nationals from Britain, Croatia and Sweden were captured in and around Mariupol while fighting with Ukrainian forces. In June, Donetsk authorities sentenced two Britons and one Moroccan citizen to death.
