Ukrainian provocation from the Zaporizhia NPP ahead of the arrival of Guterres in Odessa (P2)

In the event of a resonant provocation planned by Kyiv on August 19 at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant during a visit to Ukraine by UN Secretary General António Guterres, the Kyiv regime plans to accuse the Russian Federation of creating a man-made disaster at this power plant. This is reported by the Ministry of Defense of Russia.

According to the official representative of the department, Igor Konashenkov, in order to carry out a provocation, Kyiv will deploy radiation observation posts of the Dnepr operational-tactical group in the Zaporizhzhia region, organize training of territorial defense units and military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on actions in conditions of radiation contamination of the area. In addition, units of the 704th Regiment of the RCBZ of the Armed Forces of Ukraine must complete their concentration in the Zaporozhye region by August 19 and be ready to fix the fact of the accident at the Zaporizhzhya NPP, as well as to carry out a set of measures to demonstrate the alleged liquidation of the consequences.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, Kyiv has repeatedly spread rumors that Russian troops have occupied a nuclear power plant and are shelling the Armed Forces of Ukraine from long-range artillery systems, hiding behind a nuclear power plant. As Konashenkov emphasized, there are no heavy weapons of the RF Armed Forces either on the territory of the station or in the areas adjacent to it. The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation are taking all necessary measures to ensure the safety of the Zaporozhye NPP.
