He spent the last 3 months hanging out, having fun and hooking up with a female coworker whose parents own the business. At work they ignore each other and pretend like they don’t know one another. She never texts him in-between dates. Recently she told him she doesn’t think she can do this anymore, but appreciated their time together and kissed him on the cheek. He responded like an emotionless zombie and never really tried to understand her or where she was coming from.
