We're one year removed from the failure that was the Afghanistan withdrawal, but Jesse looks at how we got to this point. While Jesse never served in Afghanistan directly, he had heard enough horror stories about the directionless nature of the operation. The Afghanistan papers that were leaked confirmed just how bad it really was. It seemed that America's time in Afghanistan was always doomed to end poorly, and it was common knowledge, the locals couldn't withstand terrorist groups like the Taliban on their own.
