The TEXT is Luke 22:52-62…
We pick up on where The Lord Jesus Christ JUST came from The Mount of Olives,where He had went to pray…and after asking His Disciples to “pray that ye enter not into temptation”(vs.40),then some verses down,He and His Disciples LEFT The Mouth of Olives and was approached by a band of men…ready to arrest Him.Peter had just cut off the ear of Malchus,the High Priest’s servant…Jesus put it back on…then in verse 52,of Luke 22,Jesus asked: “Be ye come out,as against a thief,with swords and staves (clubs)?” Then the NEXT Verse contained a Powerful statement of The Lord’s and a DEEP REVELATION as to WHAT “TIME” it was…Jesus Said “...this is your hour,and the power of DARKNESS”...
Jesus was letting it be known that this was satan’s time to do what was written in Scripture that he MUST do…the plan of Salvation was winding down…Jesus JUST told Peter in verse 31,”Simon,Simon,behold,satan hath desired to have you,that he may SIFT you AS WHEAT…”
Peter said that “It wasn’t going to happen”...(paraphrased)...and that “he was ready for what was coming against him” (paraphrased)...But Jesus TOLD him that “he was going to FALL”...(paraphrased)...but Peter denied that…yet,when Jesus entered into HIS arena of trial…”Peter followed afar off”...(vs. 54)...THIS is the point of this Lesson…this Broadcast…”Times when WE have followed Jesus afar off”...thus the TITLE:
”Though I'm not worthy....I CAN’T go back”...
