Well, the 5.9 & 8.3 Cummins are very reliable engines but yet they have common problems on them. The 5.9 Cummins is used in pickup trucks like the Dodge RAM 2500 & 3500 series including school buses & medium duty trucks. And then there is the bigger brother of the 5.9 is the 8.3 Cummins. The 8.3 Cummins is not meant for being used in pickups like the Dodge RAM 2500 & 3500. These are being used in motorhomes, school buses, & in bigger trucks!
