New Orleans (2022) Road trip day one

In the car out the car... let's get on the road together.

On this road trip to the south our first stop was at Gary's BBQ in China Grove N.C. This was a really cool looking place, and the food was 8/10 for N.C. BBQ. However, the staff and just style to this place makes it a 10/10 overall.

We would give it a Melton's approval. You should eat here at least once maybe twice while in the area. If you live near this area, you should be eating here.

Also, Cash is King in small towns in North Carolina. We Southern Folk don't like giving our money to large corps for no good reason. So, make sure you got a few bucks on you when traveling the small towns in the south.

After making sure we buckled the Keurig in for "Safety First" we head back out on the road to find people that our more southern than even us.

Unfortunately, if you are heading south to anywhere on the east coast of America you most likely will have to drive to through Atlanta.

Side Note: Atlanta traffic sucks no matter the day or time you are there. If you can just don't.

After getting through Atlanta, it was smooth sailing even crossing the Chattahoochee were
It gets hotter than a hoochie coochie. Though I grew up singing these words, I had no idea what they meant.

Turns out hoochie is slag for a young woman of the night and coochie can mean a few things I cannot type here. However, when said as hoochie coochie it kind of means stripper/lap dancer. Odd this was a song that was o.k. to sing as a child. Never thought to even look this up until now.

O.K. back to the real world. We booked, and by we, I mean Laura did some things and I have a place to rest my head for the night. This amazing place with a view of a dumpster. Not even kidding watch the video this is real life.

The funny part is this hotel has a view over a pond facing west for sunsets. I am talking small town not a lot of pollution epic color sunsets.

That is, if you have a room on the other side we are not staying on.

I often wonder how many people did not even care on that side of the hotel? I would have taken that photo I cannot get because I got a room facing the dumpster.

No matter our room we got the much needed sleep for the second part of the road trip to make it to Nola.
