In this series on Narcissism I am going to summarize what we learned in the prior episode and expand our understanding of the ego-ideal, how it can pathologically morph into a false self, and I’ll describe what a true self is. Everyone has a healthy version of an ego-ideal to orient our goals but when it is pathological it becomes The False self.
