Americans Agree; Threats To Democracy Are Biggest Problem Ahead of Midterms

According to a significant new study, Americans believe that "threats to democracy" are the most pressing problem before the midterm elections in November.

Voters were asked: "What do you believe is the most critical issue confronting the country?" in an NBC News poll that was released on Sunday.

Their response? Democracy is under threat. 21 percent of voters perceive that to be the most crucial issue going into the election this fall. Next, at 16 percent, was cost of living. Jobs and the economy came in second with 14%, immigration third with 13%, and climate change fourth with 9%.
