The American Express Platinum was first introduced in 1984 and had an annual fee of $250. In 2021 the Platinum was revamped and the annual fee was raised to $695. Today, in 2022, the Amex Platinum still has the $695 annual fee but it comes with an insane amount of credits and benefits that can make the card worth getting.
