Patriotism is Idolatry

Paul says in Hebrews 11 that the calling of Abraham in Genesis chapter 12 is a picture in type of how Christians are called out of this world; that a true Christian's citizenship is in heaven, NOT on the earth; the Lord Jesus is his "blessed and only Potentate -- his only king, president and lawgiver. This theme is repeated throughout the New Testament and separates true Christians from false - whose focus, and allegiance, hope and security is foolishly placed in the politics of this world. For the Christian, patriotism is not only idolatrous - it is also treasonous.
