(149) The Powerstroke Diesel engine common problems (1994-2011)

Well, I'm going to tell you guys about the common problems of these engines. The 3 Powerstroke diesel engines were built by International Trucks/NAVISTAR, CORP. The 7.3 Powerstroke Diesel (T444E) A.K.A. Detroit Diesel series 300 is the 1st manufactured Powerstroke Diesel engine to be put in Ford's pickups/vans including International's Medium Duty trucks. Good motor with 5 common problems on it. (1994-2005). Next, we have the 6.0 Powerstroke Diesel (VT365). This is the 2nd engine that replaced the 7.3 In 2003 when Pre-emission systems were invented. It is more problematic & tends to cost $15,000 for repairs! Don't get the 6.0s. The nicknames for the 6.0 Diesel however you guys like to call it, the 6.0/6.BLOW/whatever you like to call it. Engine was discontinued in Mid-2007 for expensive costs to International Trucks for engine repairs. Next & last we have the 6.4 Powerstroke Diesel. It's also formerly known as the MAXXFORCE 7 Non-commercial version. This engine was supposed to have more problems fixed than the predecessor "The 6.0 Diesel" & turned out to be a bust. This engine continued to be more problematic with the strict emission systems after when the government introduced them in Mid-2007. Also, this engine can leave you stranded because of the reduced power mode. Also nicknamed "Limp Mode". International Trucks/NAVISTAR, CORP. ended their share/contracts with Ford Motor Company in 2011 & decided to continue with their own engines in International's own vehicles.
