If it is true love then this person would congratulate them on finding someone to be with, and pray for a successful relationship for them. Love always, always is focused on the other person and what is best for them. To say, in effect “I love you, I need you and no one else can have you” is not love at all. It is selfishness and seems to want to override the other person’s free will to have a relationship with someone else.

I could answer this question by suggesting ways to break up the relationship they have with the other person such as finding the other person and telling them lies about the person I supposedly love, to trick them into surrendering them back to me, where I think they belong, but that is selfish.
