The moral significance of the Nuremberg Code — the most authoritative, internationally recognized document in the history of medical ethics — cannot be overstated, said Vera Sharav, Holocaust survivor and founder of the Alliance for Human Research Protection.

On Saturday, August 20th, 2022, a compelling line-up of international speakers traveled to Nuremberg to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of The Nuremberg Code. Now of all times, in its jubilee year, this achievement of mankind is facing the greatest hardship since it was written.

Sharav was born in 1937 in Romania and survived the Holocaust as a child; her father did not survive. Her mother emigrated to the United States while she was cared for by relatives; she rejoined her mother in New York City when she was eight (8) years of age.

Vera Sharav, a medical activist, is the founder of the Alliance for Human Research Protection and an activist against some practices of the biomedical industry, particularly in matters of patient consent and children.
