DO YOU KNOW SOMEONE WHO COMMANDS RESPECT?
Is that why you give it?

Do we most often respect people who demand respect or people who have earned it?
How do people earn YOUR respect? What are some of the attitudes, actions, behaviors which cause you to see them as someone worthy of your respect?

Here’s a reality check for you. Most people would not be able to answer those questions without at least a few minutes to stop and think them through. The reason this is such a challenge is simple. If we cannot quickly identify the reason we respect other people, we also cannot choose those actions attitude and behaviors as our own.

Yes, we all want to be respected. We all long to have the respect of those in our immediate circle of family and friends. We wish to be remembered with respect and have a reputation of respect. Yet all of these hopes will be fantasy if we cannot IDENTIFY and then EXEMPLIFY the models behavior which earn respect!!

Make a list today of all the traits of someone else which cause you to respect them. Then make the same list of two or three more people you respect. Finally circle the common traits between them and make them your own.
