ארה"ב ואיראן ממשיכות את המשא ומתן בנוגע לחידוש הסכם הגרעין. נראה שנכון לעכשיו, הכדור נמצא במגרש של איראן שבוחנת את הצעתה של ארה"ב. כתב NTD ג'ייסון פרי שוחח עם ד"ר מג'יד סדג׳פור, המנהל הפוליטי של ארגון הקהילות האיראניות-האמריקניות, גוף המקדם איראן חופשית ודמוקרטית. האומר בין היתר: "לכל משא ומתן עם המשטר הזה, יש את הפגם, שאתה מניח שאיראן תהיה שחקן הגון...".
לדברי סדג׳פור, איראן תמשיך לרדוף אחרי פצצה גרעינית מכיוון שהיא זקוקה לפצצה למען הישרדותה. שכן היו כמה התקוממויות כלל ארציות בשנים האחרונות שקראו לשינוי המשטר.
